The GNJPCC's purpose is to employ its resources to implement and coordinate the activities of the US Postal Service in its relations with the business community and public in general.

The primary purpose of the Council is to provide, in accordance with general Postal Policy:

bulletEstablish a means of regular communication between customers and local Postal managers.
bulletInform Postal customers of the latest changes in US Postal Service products, services and rates.
bulletAssist customers in improving their internal mail operations.
bulletCreate a better understanding of the US Postal Service through business meetings, mailer clinics, mailing seminars, tours of Postal facilities and visits to other customers' plants.
bulletProvide information necessary to make the most effective and efficient use of postal products and services.
bulletProvide an organized way for US Postal Service speakers to introduce products, services and programs to the public.
bulletEducate mailers on the proper use and implementation of automation and mailing list hygiene programs.
